Transfer Application Requirements

  • Official Transcripts:
    Transfer applicants must obtain an official copy of their current and previous college transcripts, plus one copy of their final high school transcript.
  • Essay:
    A Personal Statement is required with your application.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a non-refundable application fee of $60.
  • Interview:
    An interview is not required for admission consideration.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is a C or higher.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    No more than 50 percent of the credits required for graduation from Virginia Tech may be transferred from two-year colleges. You must complete 30 credits in residence at Virginia Tech to earn your bachelor's degree.
