Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Yakima Valley Community College has an open-door admissions policy for any adult eighteen or over or whose high school class has graduated. Minimum GPA requirements vary by program.
  • Official Transcripts:
    College transcripts from every institution attended are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    Not required for general admissions.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Not required for general admissions.
  • Essay:
    Not required for general admissions.
  • Application Fee:
    $20 nonrefundable application fee ($25 for international students).

  • Other Requirements:
    Certain professional/technical programs have additional requirements and application procedures. The Compass Test is required for all students unless you have a transcript from a previous college with math or English credits.

Transfer Credit Policy

Information for Transfer Out Students

  • Transfer Agreements:
    Students who earn the Associate of Arts degree will be able to transfer to Washington colleges and universities that honor the Direct Transfer Agreement with junior standing, having met lower division general education requirements.
