Financial Information

• Scholarships and Financial Aid:
  Scholarship applicants should fill out only one official YVCC Scholarship Application form and mail or turn it in to the YVCC Foundation Office. To apply for the federal and state financial aid programs available at the college, submit the FAFSA.

Transfer Application Requirements

• Minimum GPA:
  Yakima Valley Community College has an open-door admissions policy for any adult eighteen or over or whose high school class has graduated. Minimum GPA requirements vary by program.
• Official Transcripts:
  College transcripts from every institution attended are required.
• SAT Scores:
  Not required for general admissions.
• Letters of Recommendation:
  Not required for general admissions.
• Essay:
  Not required for general admissions.
• Application Fee:
  $20 nonrefundable application fee ($25 for international students).
• Interview:
  Not required for general admissions.
• Other Requirements:
  Certain professional/technical programs have additional requirements and application procedures. The Compass Test is required for all students unless you have a transcript from a previous college with math or English credits.

Transfer Credit Policy

• Minimum Grade:
  In general, credit may be granted for courses taken at accredited institutions.

Information for Transfer Out Students

• Transfer Agreements:
  Students who earn the Associate of Arts degree will be able to transfer to Washington colleges and universities that honor the Direct Transfer Agreement with junior standing, having met lower division general education requirements.
