Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    To qualify for transfer admission, students should have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale for all work attempted and be eligible to re-enter all colleges and universities previously attended.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official transcripts from each college previously attended are required, as well as official high school transcripts.
  • SAT Scores:
    Students transferring fewer than 18 semester credit hours must take the SAT or ACT and/or have a record of these scores sent to the Office of Admissions.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Letters of recommendation are not required.
  • Essay:
    An essay is not required.
  • Application Fee:
    A one-time, non-refundable undergraduate application fee of $25.00 is charged to all new undergraduate, first-time-in-college applicants and transfer students.
  • Interview:
    An interview is not required.
  • Associates Degree Required:
    An associates degree is not required.
  • Other Requirements:
    Students not meeting all transfer requirements may be considered. Provide a 1-2 page statement accounting for past academic shortcomings, identify steps they will take to address them and specify academic goals they plan to achieve while at Lamar.
