Many institutions promote the development of partnership agreements called articulation agreements or transfer agreements. States promote their state-wide transfer agreements as well. These agreements express the good intent between institutions to make the college pathways easier for students to navigate, if they stay on the right path.
Each week, we see press releases announcing how simple the transfer process has become between a couple of schools, continually increasing the students and parents expectations that college transfer is simple. It can be. But, most times, it is not. Primarily because students have too many choices to follow and often take pathways that are not anticipated between schools.
Well, we wish it would be a much simpler process. That is why we are working hard to build CollegeTransfer.Net to become the most comprehensive portal for students, parents, advisors and faculty looking for college transfer information.
This past month, CollegeTransfer.Net has added a new feature to the system call the Transfer Agreement Repository. This new feature allows schools to officially publish their transfer agreements and policies on one central repository to help students find them. Often, transfer agreements, once developed, get buried in admissions offices and transfer center, become stale and out of date because of the frequency to update them is often missed. The new Transfer Agreement Management Center helps schools manage the development and publication of transfer agreements.
