Financial Hold on Transcripts?

If your transcript is being held for financial reasons from your current institution will the school you wish to transfer to even talk to you about your options? Suppose you have an unofficial transcript and grade reports? Any advice or experiences would be appreciated.

Depends on the school. The transfer counselor in the Admissions office might be willing to look at an unofficial transcript and give you an unofficial evaluation. At other schools, they might not even bother to look at an unofficial transcript. Some schools won't even look at an official transcript until after you've applied and been accepted. The bottom line is that you'll need the official transcript to get an official evaluation of transfer credits that may help you decide between one school versus another.

Honestly, the school probably wont even bother with an unofficial transcript as those can be so easily tampered with. I'd get whatever financial issues resolved and have the official one sent to them asap.
