    Capitol College is affordable to all students. In addition to having reasonable tuition and fees, it has a broad array of financial aid options. More than 80 percent of Capitol’s students receive some form of financial assistance, and our financial aid staff is dedicated to assisting you in finding the funds to help pay for your education.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    The minimum GPA required for admission to Capitol College is 2.2 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Official Transcripts:
    If you have less than 15 transferrable credit, the submission of your official high school transcript is required in addition to official transcripts from all previously attended postsecondary institutions.
  • SAT Scores:
    You must submit official standardized test scores only if you have less than 15 transferrable credits.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    If you do not meet the minimum GPA requirement, letters of recommendation may be required for further consideration.
  • Essay:
    Capitol requires the submission of an essay addressing the question: “Why would you like to attend Capitol College and what are your plans for the future?” Your double-spaced essay should not exceed two typewritten pages.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a nonrefundable $25 application fee, which is waived if you apply online.
  • Interview:
    If you do not meet the minimum GPA requirement, a personal interview may be required for further consideration.
  • Other Requirements:
    Capitol College credit requirements are based on the semester credit system. Transfer credits from other institutions operating on other academic calendar systems will be converted to semester credits.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Only a grade of C or higher will be considered for transfer (courses are evaluated and transferred individually). A grade of D will not be accepted for credit even when it is part of a degree.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Capitol will transfer a max of 70 semester-credit hours from: community/junior, proprietary/technical, the military, CLEP, AP and IB. There is no max amount of credits from a 4-year accredited institution as long as residency requirements are met.
